I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.

I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.

"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!

Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."

Final Fantasy Discovery

Okay I played a little bit of this (RSW Release). A very little bit, but I'm really digging it so far. Aesthetically everything (graphics, sound, music, general design choices) has a 'just right' Final Fantasy feel that's "cooked to perfection", but mechanics wise I've barely dipped my toes in. Well, actually, if I'm gonna nitpick, one thing felt very wrong in the early game--that Cid had steal and Locke did not.

It was a bit "mean" how you had Cloud, Squall, and Locke all die to friendly fire during the intro but I'm going to assume that was done "for the gigs" so to speak; still, harsh way to treat a "celebrity cameo" : P

I guess my question for fun would be...what are the STATS/Character Attributes in Final Fantasy games? Do they vary from game to game? The attributes here look a bit more like the VX Ace defaults rather than stats I've seen in Final Fantasy games. Was that an intentional decision?

Final thought, I really love that you left the project open. That is very classy, and locking it when is itself so dependent on borrowed and stolen stuff would have been markedly non-classy so, good on ya.

Totally gonna play more of this beaut later on. Generally speaking I try not to pay attention to wildly popular projects like this one to maintain my reputation as an iconoclast, but this bandwagon is full of delicious candy and I can't not jump on.

You can't leave forever Craze, who would fill your role as RMN supervillain?
What about Max McGee? He’d be my first choice if Craze ever decided to go out to greener pastures.

No you've got it all wrong, I am the hero destined to save RMN from itself.

But I guess as the old saying goes, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I can see it now (again for whatever reason ???). Looks pretty neat, if early.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Well to play devil's advocate in any medieval-ish fantasy setting it's very likely that the massive rape and pillage of civilians during war time exists. Is that terrorism?

There is nothing objectively *wrong* with the word terrorism, it just has the wrong *flavor* for a medieval or historical fantasy setting, the same way I'd try to avoid using the word *hypothesis* in a fantasy setting that resembled a historical period where the scientific method hadn't been discovered yet.

Dragons' Descendants

So...I know this game is kinda old news but I played the first dungeon or so just now. I really enjoyed it so hopefully I'll come back to it later but right now I'm really incentivized (dam u spell checker I KNOW what's a word) to play a little bit of a lot of different games rather than playing a whole bunch of any one game.

The writing is good, the characters actually seem pretty likable and the banter is nicely done. I liked the character portraits but I had assumed they were from the VX Samurai set rather than some kind of weird Pokemon Tactics game (???).

(Sidenote: It is so weird that this even exists. Now I want a game that nonsensically crosses over Pokemon with WESTERN historical figures.)

The general "mythic Japan" feel of the setting is a nice change from most RPGs on here and I felt the writing captured that sort of cadence pretty well.

I have no comment on the "important stuff" (battles/mechanics) yet, I need more experience than one dungeon to talk about that. I did think the way enemies fumbled for potions before using them was a pretty neat idea. Generally it seems like a pretty impressive amount of (for want of a better word) customization for not having used any scripts. Reminds my ancient eyes of the RM2k3 days.
